Four Colour Therapy tips to enhance your Mind, Body & Spirit well-being.
Colour has a major impact in our lives especially on our mind, body and spirit. We normally are drawn to one or two favourite colours for most of our lives. However when something happens or changes in our lives we may find ourselves drawn to a different colour or group of colours for a short period of time. Our unconscious and conscious minds always seem to know what we need.
We don’t need to have ill health to use the principles and wonders of the complimentary modality, Colour Therapy. We can be both aware of it and allow it to enhance our quality of living in our day to day lives for our general well-being.
In this post I wanted to discuss both the principles of how colour plays a significant role in our everyday lives and in our healing journeys, and give you a few personal examples to demonstrate.
Currently, I have been going through an intense time with my health after experiencing an unexpected side effect from my recent surgery that I had in January. Since the surgery I have been wearing and have been drawn to the colours green and blue. I have then used these two colours consciously in my healing journey.
So why have these colours been so important for me at this current time! Because Green and Blue are both healing colours, in addition Blue is also a cooling colour.
As mentioned before our unconscious and conscious minds play a big part in knowing what we need. In my case, on a conscious level, I am more aware of what I need because I have studied Colour therapy and know its benefits and how it works. However our unconscious mind always guides and lets us know what colours we need to heal or help us in our current situation.
Again, I have seen this come into play these past few weeks. After having a major healing session the other day. The very next day I unconsciously selected anorange top to wear and have since wanted to connect with everything orange and its different shades. I also pulled out the orange colour card from the Colour Therapy card deck that I have. So this is another instance of how colour plays a huge role in our lives and is indicative of what I currently need in my healing journey.
When we couple colour with other modalities such as chakra and crystal therapies, which also uses the power of colour; these can help aid and support us in our healing journeys. It just makes the healing even more powerful.
So how can you apply it to your own life journey to enhance your mind, body and spirit well-being?
Here are four Colour Therapy tips to enhance your Mind, Body & Spirit well-being
1.Connect with what your unconscious minds is telling you and consciously use the colour to aid what you need.
Look at what you are currently wearing. Is it different from the usual colours that you normally stick to? Is there a pattern to the colours that you are now using, i.e. with the foods that you are eating or with the colour of your clothing etc.?
So like in my case, I knew that I needed these three colours, blue, green, and orange, so I started to use them more in my daily life. I have been eating oranges and taking vitamin c. Because we can also support ourselves also by using the colour of foods that we eat (with wholesome foods, not junk food!). As mentioned before, I had also started to wear the colour/s that I needed.
2.Visualise the colour healing your body.
You can visualise the area of your body healing. Send it the colour that it needs.
Since my operation I have visualised and sent green healing to my central nervous system especially to my nerve endings. I have been sending green energy to the rest of my body. I have also called on the healing Archangel, Archangel Raphael to help assist in my healing. Raphael is linked to the colour green.
3.Use Colour therapy with other modalities to take this to a new level
Both Chakra and Crystal healing use the principles of colour therapy as well, as they use colour within them.
Since my surgery, I have used particular crystals on several areas of my body. I have also been doing a lot of personal chakra healing work as well. Plus I have had some healing done by others that involved these therapies. Because I know when coupled with other modalities such as chakra and crystal therapies, which also uses the power of colour, these can help aid us in the healing process; and therefore can support us more during this time.
4.Immerse yourself with Colouring therapy
Another way to work with colour in this way is to use colouring therapy. You can just grab your pencils or textas out and start colouring in a picture or just start to draw. Just let yourself be guided with what is right for you.
I have been having a lot of fun with this and re-taking the journey with my workbook “The Awakening of the Divine Goddess”, it has allowed me to work on my chakras and use colour as well, and interesting the colours blue, green and orange came up for me again quite significantly when I did this!
