Five ways to ground yourself for an empowering New Year

Most of us start the New Year with well-off good intentions of promising and heart-felt New Year’s resolutions but by the end of January they have all too often fallen by the way side. We then feel terrible and the self-talk to ourselves can be rather negative! I am sure you know what I am talking about. The mindless taunts such as.
“Oh, I am hopeless, I didn’t even manage to even keep my resolutions for a whole day, or month let alone the year”
These are some of the the feelings and thoughts that make us feel disconnected from our true selves.
So, this is where I come into the picture. I want to help you start 2017 with some magical tips so that you feel grounded for 2017. Should you also feel un-grounded throughout the year, you can come right back to these five empowering tips to re-ground yourself again! Ooh, la, la!
2017 is also special, because according to numerology it means that it is a new cycle, a ‘one’ cycle. Which is the start of a new nine year cycle. 2016 saw us ending a nine year cycle. So here we are in 2017 at a new cycle. We have a clean slate to move forward so that we can create the life that we have always dreamed of!
You deserve to be the best version of YOU in 2017, to be balanced, on track and to be truly living life with passion. I know what it’s like to walk endlessly and tread the waters of repeated endless cycles. It’s time to get off that treadmill of life and start walking down a new road. There are so many streets and roads, just waiting for you to have some new adventures down! These new places are waiting for you!
So without further ado let’s get straight into what you are all eagerly waiting for;
The FIVE magical top tips are:
1. Use the colour RED
Colour Therapy is a very cool tool for both spiritual and self-development and for bringing change into our life. The colour RED can help us do just that and also to ground ourselves so that we feel more connected to ourselves and the life force energy of the universe.
So you can light a red candle, wear a piece of red clothing. Eat red foods such as an apple, pomegranate, grapes, or tomatoes to name a few. You can also colour in using different shades of red, get creative with a variety of red tones.
2. Chakra Healing Work
When our Chakras are aligned and balanced we are able to be in harmony. When they are out of alignment, we live in disharmony and will be un-grounded. Some of the things we will feel or may d when we are un-grounded are.
-Losing our belongings,
-Not feeling connected to anything,
-Daydream a lot,
-Have no passion for life,
-Have issues with money,
The Base/Sacral chakra is the one to work with to help you feel more connected and grounded once again. One of the ways to work with your chakra is through creative expression and colouring in a Mandala or drawing that is related to this chakra.
Affirmations are positive constructive sentences that can change your thought patterns. So, using affirmations in your everyday life is a vital key to help you feel grounded.
I have created one for you here, so that you can start to use it now or throughout the year.
“I am grounded to the energy of life. I gift myself the honour of being the best version of myself in 2017. I am centred, strong and loveable and I am ready to take on all the new adventures that come my way”
4. Crystal Healing
Talk to and befriend a crystal. There are many crystals that you can work with to ground yourself. Three crystals that you can work with are, Red Jasper, Hematite, or Obsidian.
Talk to your crystal and tell it your desired wishes for 2017.
I.e. “Please help me to be more grounded, spirited and ……… in 2017”
Crystals also can help you realign your base/sacral chakra. So meditate with them or use them in a grounding ceremony to aid this.
5. Grounding Exercise
(This is a grounding exercise that you can use to help ground you to the life force energy of the universe)
Go outside and stand if possible bare footed on the grass or ground.
(You can have your crystal with you at this time as well)
Raise your arms up into the air and allow yourself to embrace the universe.
Just be mindful of where you are.
Have your feet firmly grounded to the base of the earth.
Connect into the sensation of how the ground feels, breathe in the essence of the air, and fill your divine soul and body with the vibrations of the energy of the earth, and the ancient love and wisdom it has to share with you.
You might like to say the above affirmation or make one up yourself to say. Or you could say something like this:
“Thank you universe for connecting me into your divine elements that energise me and help me to be grounded and present in my life”
Trust your intuition with which method feels right and works best for you. So, there you go five amazing and empowering exercises that you can use in January and also reflect back on during each month in the year.
